Nexbook — Smart Travel Booking Mobile App
A mobile-first travel booking companion for flights, hotels, and activities — with saved itineraries, price alerts, offline boarding passes, and a personalized recommendations engine tuned to each traveler's history.

The Challenge
Nexbook needed a mobile app that could compete with Booking.com and Expedia on speed and reliability, while adding personalization — saved itineraries, offline access to boarding passes, and price-drop notifications on watched routes — without draining the phone battery or blowing out storage.
Our Solution
We built a React Native app with a GraphQL data layer for fine-grained querying, SQLite offline cache for itineraries and boarding passes, background push notifications for price alerts (Firebase Cloud Messaging), and a personalization engine that ranks recommendations against the user's past bookings — all in a 42MB install size.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does Nexbook handle offline access?
Nexbook caches itineraries, boarding passes, and hotel confirmations to a local SQLite store on first sync. Users can view all trip details, QR codes, and check-in info without any network connectivity — critical for airport lounges and international travel where roaming data is unreliable.
Does Nexbook integrate with airline and hotel inventory systems?
Yes. Nexbook aggregates inventory via the Amadeus GDS for flights and via direct hotel chain APIs plus consolidators for accommodations. Booking confirmation runs through the airline's own PNR system so tickets are always verifiable.
